My sister and I split the two piece fried cod plate with poutine as our side. The fish was fried very well and the cheese curds were great!

Absolutely delicious! I worked at The Olde Yorke Fish & Chips in Toronto for five years, and I take my fish and chips very seriously. The Codmothers' haddock and cod were quite possibly the freshest, tastiest fish I've ever had. The batter was light, flaky, and deep fried to perfection. The onion rings were made fresh to order and had a perfect ring-to-batter ratio. We rounded out our meals with a selection of beer from the local Split Rail Brewery, all of which were full of flavour and complemented our food very well. A few of the reviews made me a little nervous to come here, but I'm so thrilled we decided to give it a try anyway. This was exactly what we were looking for and we couldn't be happier. Thank you, Codmother!

Two of us dined in for a bite to eat on a rainy weekday in October. The name stood out to us online and the diner has a comforting Ma & Pa feel. Staff was friendly and flavours were basic but still hit the spot! The french onion soup and the poutine were fantastic. The club sandwich was okay and fish tacos missed the mark for me, but I still would be back for another french onion soup and try out their fish and chips!

Very casual, laid back restaurant that has delicious simple food. We had the fried pickles and the cod & chips (how can you not with a name like "Codmothers"?). Everything was great and I was really surprised by how good the fries were as I'm not a big french fry person. The staff was very nice and accommodating and set us up right away in a spot that worked wonderfully for our service dog, even instructing the other patrons to stop being so distracted by the cute dog and to get back to their meals Would definitely recommend for a quick, tasty meal!

The food was amazing. I had the onion rings and a hot dog. I have never spent so much time in my life thinking about onion rings after. They were beyond amazing. The dip they come with is delicious. I live far from Gore Bay, but I still crave the delicious rings. My wife had the white fish with lemon and dill. It was light and almost as delicious as the onion rings. They were concerned the piece of fish they gave her was too small, so they brought another piece. We brought Belle, our pup. Even though there was massive construction on the street in front of the restaurant, they still welcomed Belle on their patio. The construction on the street is the only reason the atmosphere got a 4/5. Other than that, staff was friendly, prompt and as I have mentioned before…onion rings!!!
